PokerStars Giving Away Life Ball Tickets
PokerStars.com has announced that it will be sending lucky players to the Life Ball 2008 in Austria later this month.
Last year, the event raised over two million dollars, which was used to help AIDS patients and fund research projects. To raise money for this year’s event, PokerStars.com will host a freeroll on Sunday awarding a Life Ball prize package including a flight for two to Vienna. Winners will also receive two nights in a luxury hotel along with tickets to attend the Life Ball on May 17 and $250 in spending money.
In order to take part, players must have finished in the top 100 of its daily freerolls taking place twice a day until tomorrow. In addition, the top 200 players in Saturday’s freeroll will also receive frequent player point credits based on where they place.
PokerStars.com stated that any player making a direct donation of one dollar or more to Life Ball would also receive entry into a $2,000 freeroll taking place on Sunday afternoon. Donations can be made via a player''s PokerStars.com account or by a direct bank transfer. Tickets to the freeroll will then be credited to each player's account before the tournament starts with the first place finisher receiving the Life Ball prize package. The site stated that other prizes would also be awarded according to its standard payout structure.
Finally, the site will hold a $20 no-limit Hold'em tournament on Sunday with half of the money going to the charity. PokerStars.com has pledged to match any amount raised with the final figure doubled if more than 500 players enter. The top finisher for this event will receive a cash prize and a Life Ball prize package.

I agree with borisk. Excellent way to heighten awareness of a cause that needs more attention.

Thats a really great prize and a great way to support such a great cause. I think its great they are awarding spending cash as well. So many of these prizes send you somewhere expensive for free where you could never afford to go for a reason, lol.
