Hansen the Dane wins WPT Barcelona
A Dane by the name of Hansen has won the WPT Spanish Championships in Barcelona.
No, not Gus but fellow countryman Casper, who outlasted a field of 253 to pick up over $655,000 for his efforts. Casper almost mimicked Gus’ normal forays on final tables though, arriving at the six-handed finale with a third of the chips in play. The tournament saw a total prize pool of almost $2 million dollars, and a thoroughly international line up. Second place went to Stefan Mattson, who was unfortunate to lose when his A-9 was outdrawn by Hansen’s A-2. Third placed Thiago Nishijima came third earning $176,934, Andreas Vidal took home $137,703 for his fourth place finish, while Guy Sitbon and Martin Lundenius lifted $118,166 and $98,157 for fifth and sixth spots.
That’s the last event in Europe before the start of the biggest event of them all – the World Series of Poker. Let’s just hope we hear more about Danes by the name of Hansen winning oodles of cash out in Las Vegas.

Not bad for a day's work I have to say-nice winnings. I don't blame your friends jackee for a bit of national pride either, it's nice to see the winner be from one of the less famously gambling nations.

All of my Dane friends are all over this one, and who would not be that is no little chunk change there, thats the full on whammy. I wish I could have seen this, you know the game would be full on entertainment.

Wow, this fellow certainly did very nice for himself! His country must be very proud of him, and for quite a good reason too! I wish I could be making some money like that myself!
