Barack Obama Has the Backing of Online Casino and Poker Community
The Poker Players’ Alliance, a non-profit organisation collectively aimed at fighting the Unlawful Internet Gaming Enforcement Act (UIGEA), now exceeds over one million members and has backed the presidential hopeful Barack Obama, who is incidentally a skilled Texas Hold‘em and Seven-Card Stud player.

Bush and prevented American players gambling at several major sites. The Republican candidate is war veteran John McCain. It is unknown how he will treat Internet gambling should he come into power.

It does seem a silly focus at times like this, but then as long as it isn't a heavy focus, there is no harm in him taking a stand on the issue. I appreciate the fact that he is willing to do so in fact, and hope that it works in our favour that he himself is a player.

I think its important for the candidates to clarify their stance on alot of issues that effect our lives, particularly those of previous presidents. Sure there are lots of other more important issues, but you can only discuss your stance on Iraq so many times before putting yourself to sleep.

I think it is silly to take such measures as Bush has done in terms of internet gambling. Let's work on getting out of Iraq and then ban internet gambling (not that I think it should be banned, it's just the principle of the matter).

I agree, definately not something that a major focus should be on at this time of war and economic crisis. After things settle down in Iraq and things pick up economy wise, that will be a whole different story!
