Amanda Leatherman Becomes New WPT Live Updates Hostess
Kicking off with the Bellagio IV Cup in Las Vegas, WPT fans will have a new face presenting their live updates.
Amanda Leatherman has taken over as the World Poker Tour’s Live Updates Hostess, where she will be following players and tournaments as it all happens. ''Amanda is a great addition to the WPT Live Updates team. She is extremely knowledgeable about the game, the players and the world of high stakes tournament poker,' said Joseph Grimm, WPT executive producer. 'We are excited and very lucky to have her on board.'
Leatherman certainly knows the ropes, having reported on numerous high-level poker tournaments since 2006. She’s covered the likes of the Aussie Millions, the NBC Heads-Up Championships, and of course the WPT events. She’s not a slouch at the poker table either.
'I'm a poker player and have been for quite a while now,' Amanda said, 'so I am very comfortable talking about hands and strategies. Plus I know a lot of the regulars on tour and it'll be a lot of fun to talk with them on the webcam.'
As well as appointing Amanda, the WPT are apparently working through candidates for the television hostess role. Kimberly Lansing seems to be the one many fans want to see in that role, but time will tell who will follow on from Hiatt and co.

Thats alot of updating of faces. I wouldn't imagine they would want to replace both at once without worrying about fans not liking the new replacements. It sounds like a great match for the live updates spot though.

Congratulations to Amanda Leatherman on her new job! It sounds like she will be an asset as the Hostess. It will be interesting to see who wins the TV hostess role as well.
