Facebook - from Pokes to Poker

Facebook is huge - there’s no denying it. With over 34 million members worldwide, the social networking site is the seventh most visited website on the net. So what better place to link up with fellow poker fans and pitch your skills against other players?

If you’re familiar with Facebook you’ll know that you can add various ‘applications’ to your page including travel maps, graffiti walls and scrabble games. There are plenty of gambling applications too.

PokerHeaven has just launched worldwide competition called ‘Poker IQ Test’. It proved immediately popular and was downloaded over 1,500 times in its first 48 hours. As well as a contest, the application can be used as a teaching aid, helping players calculate pot odds and work on their technique.

So if you’re part of the minority who doesn’t yet have Facebook, get yourself a profile. Once you’ve waded through the social jungle of “pokes” and wall-posts, you’ll find plenty of ways to improve your game.
