What Poker Players Do When They’re Bored…
Sometimes playing $200/$400 PLO just isn’t enough.
Okay, so you’re raking in pots in excess of $100,000 on a fairly regular basis, but that’s not real action is it? No, what you want to do if you need action is to try a little ‘flipping’.For those who don’t know what a ‘flip’ is, welcome to a whole new world of poker degeneracy. A ‘flip’ is when everyone at the table raises to a certain amount or goes all-in pre-flop, the players check it down, and then you see who wins. Easy.
Essentially it is bingo with cards, but sometimes the pros like to kick back and not think too much about their odds. This proved to be the case yesterday in a monster $200/$400 session fronted by Patrik Antonius. Fifteen hands of $20k flips ensued, with the likes of Steve Sung, Jay ''pr1nnyraid' Rosenkrantz, Patrik Antonius, Taylor Caby, LoLiNa, John Juanda and Gus Hansen all having their go at getting lucky with cards.
The biggest winners from the session appear to have been Rosenkrantz and Juanda, with ‘JJ’ leaving the table with an extra $280k.

Okay, I'm still not clear on what exactly "flipping" is or how you make a boatload of money on it! I can't imagine winning an EXTRA 280K!

I'd heard of flip flop, but only as a game that five year olds play. Never heard of it as a for money game that has some skill required.

15 hands of 20k each...I can't imagine having the cash to play one of those let alone win 14 as he did. Not bad for a days work, or a days worth or play as it may be.

This is the first I have heard of "flipping". It must have been great to walk off with that extra 280K though

I have not heard the term either but I do know some people told me of a game that was similar. I remember it was based about the same way and had another name but that leaves me now.
