UltimateBet Sponsoring First Annual Tony and Eva Parker Charity Night

UltimateBet today announced the sponsorship of the first annual Tony and Eva Parker Celebrity Casino Night benefiting Eva’s Heroes.

Founded by Desperate Housewives star Eva Longoria, Eva’s Heroes is dedicated to enriching the lives of those with developmental challenges and helping children and young adults with special needs to integrate and flourish in society.

“I’m incredibly excited that the popularity of poker is able to help such an important cause and I’m unbelievably honored to be associated with this charity,” stated UltimateBet pro Phil Hellmuth who is on board to emcee the event.

The celebrity poker tournament gets underway on August 9th at Pedrotti’s North Wind Ranch in San Antonio, Texas. The $300 buy-in tournament includes a buffet dinner, $10,000 in chips for the Texas Hold’em tournament and an additional $2,000 in chips for all other casino games. The winner of the poker tournament will leave with a seat in the 2009 World Series of Poker Main Event in Vegas, donated to Eva’s Heroes by UltimateBet.

To help raise additional money for Eva’s Heroes, UltimateBet has also donated an Aruba Poker Classic prize package to the casino night’s live auction. The prize package includes a seat in this year’s Main Event plus a head-to-head poker game and a lesson with Phil Hellmuth in his personal suite in Aruba. The 2008 Aruba Poker Classic gets underway on September 27th and several celebrities have already confirmed their attendance including actor Don Cheadle and Anthrax guitarist Scott Ian.

With some of the biggest stars of television and sports slated to attend the charity poker tournament, Access Hollywood, Extra and Entertainment Tonight are expected to cover the event. Already confirmed are Eva Longoria, Tony Parker, Ricardo Antonio Chavira, Katie Chonacas, Tim Duncan, Sean Elliott, Willie Garson, Jennifer Morrison, Adam Rodriguez, Leeann Tweeden and David Zayas.

that is a very beautiful program she has going, I had no idea. I have an adult brother living with Autism, and it is wonderful when people do something they love (like poker) to benefit people of need.

This seems like a really good idea and its going to hit home to many out there wanting to participate. Good work on the charity and I am sure they will help many families out there.

Helping people with disabilities in the community has always been a cause close to my heart. I had an aunt with Downs Syndrome who lived in a group home and loved her independence, as we all do. This is the first I have heard of Eva's Heroes and wish her and UltimateBet much success in their endeavors.

The more you can raise the better the chances for many new people coming out for something like this. I could see the list above getting longer as the word spreads.
