PokerRoom.com Shuts Down
Bwin, the successful European online gaming network, regretfully announced that Pokerroom.com was ceasing operations.
The shutdown came into effect yesterday.Pokerroom.com, having been founded in 1999 by Swedish poker players skar Hörnell and Claes Lidell, was one of the longest-running online poker rooms. First only offering small limit Hold ‘em games, in 2003 the site expanded to offer No-Limit at high stakes as well as Omaha and Stud variants.
The site was further revolutionised in 2006 when bwin, then known as BetandWin, acquired the OnGame network. Bwin are offering bonuses to all PokerRoom players who come to bwin.com after being unable to play at PokerRoom.
