Finns Spend €50m on Online Poker
The Finnish news agency STT has suggested that Finnish poker players spending €50 million a year on poker sites run outside of the country.
Veikkaus, which is the state-owned lottery and betting monopoly in Finland, feels that it could get some of that revenue for itself, a view which may see a review of Finnish policy. “We could gather the majority of the revenue flowing out,” said Ilkka Juva, communications manager for Veikkaus. “Certainly not all of it, but two thirds of €50 million could be attainable.” Neighbouring Sweden has a state-owned company called Svenska Spel, who Veikkaus would use as a business model should the proposals come to fruition.
The STT news agency said recommendations for the reform of gambling in the country would be made around December.

I think it would be great if they could reform the current gambling setup and make it so that the money citizens spend could actually go toward things 'inside' the country instead of going to so many outside sources.
