Show One Card, Show Both Rule Axed

Before the cards were in the air for the beginning of Day 3 of the WPT World Championship, Bellagio tournament director Jack McClelland and Daniel Negreanu stood before the assembled players to make an announcement concerning one of the more controversial rules at the card room.

McClelland spoke about the blog, stating that he believed the concerns were valid and that he would like to put it to the players in a vote. The almost unanimous vote in favour of the change was met with McClelland replying, ''In the words of Steve Lipscomb, 'Ahh.... F#%k it,''. Rule changed, and it’s business as usual once again at the Bellagio.

McClelland even jokingly gave himself a 20-minute penalty for the f-bomb. Good work, Mr McClelland.

I'd have to agree with Boris. All too often people's concerns are just brushed off and that does not make for a popular or continuing to be popular event. A clarification based on players wishes is excellent.

I love when people don't take themselves too seriously. Its god to see they acted based on people's concerns instead of passing the buck or saying they'd look into it next year. I'm sure plenty of the players were happy with the change.
