Bodog Founder Hands Over The Reigns

The founder of leading poker room Bodog has confirmed his intention to retire after taking a reduced role in the running of the poker room.

Team Bodog player Matt McCullough finished 3rd at the 2007 WSOP to win almost $800,000.

Ayre has recently served merely as a face for the company, living an affluent playboy lifestyle. The company has now been sold to the Morris Mohawk Gaming Group, based in Montreal, Canada. They plan to follow up with Ayre’s plans to expand in the South American market.

I suppose you can't continue to do everything forever. Sounds like he's decided its time to settle down a bit and enjoy the wealth he has earned. Hopefully the new owners will continue on is his work.

I had just read about this recently. Ayre is also heavily involved in his charitable foundation and I think he plans to spend more time working with that. Either way this guy is set for life!
