Are You An Offline Or Online Gambler?

Over the last few years we’ve seen a number of changes in the gambling markets of the world but while online gambling has taken the lead over offline pursuits, there is still a major offline gambling presence in places like the UK. So what is the real difference between an offline and online gambler?

While online gambling covers all of the sports across the spectrum there seems to be a definite pull towards the casino led games such as Poker–although other markets such as football and horse racing are also prominent. In comparison, offline gambling seems to take in the more traditional sports such as football, horse racing and greyhounds, sports where there is both a need and necessity for many people to be able to watch the events unfolding.

This is perhaps one of the reasons why in-play betting on the internet has become such a great phenomenon, the fact that while you are not watching the race you are actually being fed the story of the race as odds move up and down “in play”. While in play betting has pulled many people away from the offline alternatives, some people are unwilling to consider online betting.

We often forget that while using the internet is an everyday event for many of us, there are still millions of people in the UK who either can’t or don’t want to entertain using the internet, never mind gambling online. However, as you would expect we are seeing the number of online users moving higher and higher as systems become easier to use and more available.

Even though the popularity of the internet continues to grow it seems that there will always be a place on the high street for the bookies and casinos of today.
