Avoid The Online Mistakes

Playing poker online often results in some very unusual mistakes that will not actually happen too often. In live poker you will almost never ‘accidentally’ fold quad queens or quad anything for that matter. Or will you call a board that shows aces, kings and queens with a measly pocket twos? Believe it or not, it actually happens online. People will every now and then click the call button by mistake or the fold the nuts by mistake.

The best thing to do is to make sure you keep on top of yourself and keep yourself fresh. Most mistakes that are made of this magnitude occur because of fatigue, stress and multi-tabling. Always pay attention to your own energy levels. This type of mistake might not be as big a pinch if it occurs at the low level 25 cent/50 cent game but at a $25/$50 level, the mistakes moves can have a four figure face about it. Not so funny after all.

Another strategy to adopt in order to avoid making a costly error is to always keep the cursor of the mouse on the middle of the table. That way your hands can already be directed by your eyes when they start looking for the call or fold button. A twitchy accidental click will only land on the middle of the table rather than on the call or push button.

If this is happening too often, then you will have to find ways to solve the problem. If you are multi tabling, try reducing the number of tables that you are playing, or making sure that all the potential distractions are all eliminated. Try to increase the number of breaks that you plan in to each session. Make sure you get plenty of rest and try to grab a breath of fresh air.
