Betting on Banker or Player?
Baccarat is the favourite game of James Bond as well as many others. It is a very simple game with only three choices of bets. Casinos issue cards to allow players to track the results of each hand, and to monitor any patterns that may appear. There are a few systems that many players use to take advantage of changing patterns.
One that you often see is called “Flagship” or “Time Before Last”. You simply bet on the side that won the decision before the last one. For instance, if the last decisions were Player-Bank, you would bet on Player because it occurred the time before last.
This strategy is popular because it will automatically allow you to take advantage on any long consecutive runs that might occur. For instance, if a run of Bank-Bank-Bank occurred, you would be betting on Bank and would continue to do so until the run ended. Or an alternating run of Player-Bank-Player-Bank would result in your being on the winning side every time until the pattern was broken.
This system also happens to have a weakness of losing whenever a long run or pattern changes. Coming out of a random shoe at a casino, it can occur every few hands but can definitely allow for you to adjust your system once this happens to often.
Some players like to combine betting the “Opposite of Time Before Last” with the Flagship approach. Just as the name suggests this method is the exact opposite of time before last betting. The idea being that a shoe tends to go through cycles where there will be runs or more structured patterns which eventually decay into more random patterns. By reading what continues to come out, switching between the two systems will allow you to take advantage of whatever is coming out.
Another common and simple strategy is called “Follow The Leader”. To employ this strategy one must simply bet the same as the last decision. This strategy also happens to allow you to take advantage of the randomness of shoes and will catch on to most patterns that the shoe produces other than if it constantly alternates between player and banker each hand.
By using a combination of ‘Flagship’, ‘Opposite of Time Before Last’ and ‘Follow The Leader’, and a good reading of the pattern of hands coming out of the shoe, you can have a good chance at coming out on top at everybody’s favourite game of baccarat.
