Checking Your Focus

Knowing that you are at full concentration and focus is an important part of having a strong session at any game at the tables. Full focus and concentration comes from being awake and alert and enables you to make the correct decisions and know exactly what you are doing. Here are some signs that you do not have full concentration and should either be taking a break or starting a new session the next day after a good rest.

Yawning

If you are yawning, it is your body telling you that you are tired. There is no point continuing since you really should be resting. Your brain will not be thinking straight or making the correct decisions.

Lack of Concentration

Your brain not being able to concentrate could be due to many distractions around you or mental exhaustion from focusing for too long and not enough energy to continue. If you cannot concentrate on the task at hand, best to take a break.

Feeling Agitated

A feeling of agitation and not being able to sit still are signs of lack of concentration and if after a long session of play, weariness. This comes as you are trying to concentrate and your body is sending you signals that your body just cannot cope with the situation.

You Cannot Remember Things

Little things are going past you, like the last hand or you giving a chip to somebody, or what you just said. When you start to forget little things it is a sign that your brain is shutting down. Again, this is not a good sign of whether to play or not.

Having Trouble Sitting Up

Your head wants to drop down in a sleeping position. Your body is very fatigued and needs to grab some sleep. Time to quit the game.

Always look out for signs that you are not at 100% concentration, always pick up on these, be honest with yourself and act accordingly.
