Control the Drink

There is the constant discussion of whether a player should play and drink at the same time. There are always to ways to look at this. If you are a serious gambler, the answer should be a resounding no. If you are a casual gambler who is trying to win, the answer is still a resounding no. It is obviously very hard to poss up anything that is free, and delicious looking, and you might be on vacation, or out to have a good time, but just keep aware of the negative effects it will have on your decision making.

If one drink does not affect your play, maybe two, go for it. Have a little fun, but do not have too much fun. It is more fun to leave a winner than a loser. That is the defining point of why one should not drink and gamble at the same time. The casino already has an edge on you, so why would you want to allow them to take the edge further by making your mental state weaker? One idea is to be ready to go, before you order your drinks and you can depart the table with your drinks in hand.

Passing up the free drinks is a tough act, but in the long run, it is much cheaper to purchase the drinks at the bar after you have a winning session. Alcohol impairs judgement and clear thinking. Everybody knows this, it kills your thinking brain cells. Drinking may be all fun and good, but if you have money on the line and take the money seriously, best to keep the advantage of the casino as low as possible. People that are drinking do not think straight, they play too long and make bad decisions, and start over betting so all these factors are just too much to risk for a few sweet drops of alcohol.
