Gambling Superstitions
Superstitions are an entrenched part of gambling. Superstitions can change from the high rollers to the common folk and across many customs. Many people will use the superstitions with a disciplined manner in order to maximise their luck and winnings. The truth is that every gambler has some form of superstition whether it be a habit or just some past inflicted observation. Here are some common superstitions that many gamblers believe in whilst gambling.
Avoid breaking mirrors, it brings horrible luck.
Never walk under a ladder.
Carrying a four leaf clover, a rabbit’s foot, horseshoe or a lucky item of clothing will bring good luck.
Always blow on the dice or kiss the dice before rolling them.
Keep the gambling chips nice and neat.
Keep your fingers crossed.
Wear some item of red clothing, especially red underwear.
Play a certain lucky machine.
Keep away from numbers that contain the letter five or four, and keep to numbers that contain eight.
Never count money during a gambling session.
Avoid monks or nuns before going to a casino.
Never touch someone’s shoulder while they are gambling.
Never gamble on borrowed money.
Avoid the colour black, or feeling grumpy.
Avoid entering the casino from the main entrance.
Never drop any cards
Never allow anybody to watch over you whilst playing.
Switch on all the lights at home before gambling.
Do not sit cross legged.
Play with the grain at a wooden table.
Never play in a room with a dog in it.
Do not allow anybody to put their foot on your chair.
Never look at the horse in the eye if you are planning to bet on it.
Wear a lucky hat.
Make a donation to a charity before gambling.
Throw a chip in to a fountain.
The riches will come flowing back.
Every gambler has some form of superstition, whether it helps or not, is up to you to believe in it.
