With so much fanfare around Macau being the gambling capital of Asia and making more money than Las Vegas, the poker events will be definitely see some of the best players from all over the world and a few living poker legends.

Poker itself in the once Portugese colony is slowly booming with many emerging players joining in the fun from China and Hong Kong. They are still only at the head of the potential boom of the game so they still are learning a few more tricks and tactics to becoming great players. The bug has definitely caught on and the players are playing online and scouring you tube for the videos of all the best plays that they can use at the casino or home game.

For all the European players heading to Macau to experience Asia for the first time, it will be the best of experiences. Asian culture obviously has its own flavour with Macau presenting it¡¯s own variation of Asia. Playing against Asian poker players though, is a whole different experience.

Asian poker players are gamblers. They love chasing their gut shots, open enders and are less likely to fold. They probably will not be changing gears as much throughout a tournament or cash game. Watch out for the rich middle aged Chinese business man who finds this new game a spectacle. They will not take too kindly to intimidation and will most likely want to tango with you to the very end if you keep taking his chips.

Poker in Macau is only going to get bigger, one day, they might even be holding the world championships there!
