Mastering The Essentials

For any gambler, mastering the essentials of any game is the most important element of moving past the beginner level and ensuring gambling longevity. Although there are different nuances between the different types of games, perfect bankroll management is still required and most be practiced with the strictest of essentials in order to have any success whatsoever.

Good bankroll management starts from the very beginning with setting aside the extra money that you are willing to put as your starting bankroll. The best way to formulate how much to put away, is work out the number of bets you would like to make in each session and multiply that by 20 times or more. So if you want to make 20 bets a session, and multiply that by 20, that makes 400. Then multiply 400 by the minimum bet available to you. So if it is say $1 in whatever currency, then your starting capital is $400, with each session featuring 20 one dollar bets.

If you happen to lose all 20 bets, then you have to wait for the next session to bet another 20 units, rather than breaking open the bank and drawing everything out to double up or chasing the losses. If you cannot stand making just $1 bets then you will have to increase you bankroll, say it is $10 bets, then your bankroll needs to be $4000. Make sure this $4000 is not borrowed from anywhere and you can afford to lose it without jeopardising your lifestyle or relationships with anybody.

You can increase your bet size when you add to your bankroll whenever you win the bets, and it is enough to proportionally increase your bankroll. So if your bankroll increases by 20% you can then increase you bet size by 20%.

Mastering your bankroll management will ensure you have plenty of fun gambling without being emotionally attached to your money.
