Online Players To Crush WSOP
With the World Series of Poker fast approaching, many will be watching who will be the likely winners of the most bracelets and the coveted main event title. There will be the obvious well known players like Phil Ivey, Phil Helmuth, Mike Matusow, Daniel Negreanu, etc but the increasing presence of young online players seems to really be the obvious choice of nominating the most likely winners.
Last year’s final table was full of young online pros, with Phil Helmuth’s youngest ever winner finally broken by Peter Eastgate. Since 2005, many young 18 year olds from the USA and all over the world have been working on their game online, often multi-tabling up to 15 tables at a time, and are finally old enough to play in the WSOP at Vegas, where the minimum age is 21. They have played more hands than any live player, posted more comments on poker forums, skipped more university classes and possibly made more money than any other amateur in the field.
With their strong mathematical skills and online experience, they will be in force to first take the chips off the many nervous qualifiers who are playing the game of a lifetime before surging through the field without fear of busting. Young online players have been continually dominating the big live events all around the world and this year’s WSOP should unearth many more talents that are changing the face of poker from the greying veterans to the baby faced generation.
Look out for the young players sporting their bracelets for numerous events. The WSOP changed when qualifiers started appearing in the event with the poker boom. Now, it is the young online pros that will make up the numbers and also outplay the others for the title.
