Putting In the Time

For the not so lucky people out there who are still holding on to day jobs but who constantly dream of being fulltime gamblers or poker players much of it is actually putting in the time to reach that type of status. Have you thought about how much time you have actually been putting into analysing the type of best that you are making or researching the most value bets on the market? What about the amount of hours that you are committed to grinding at the poker table to both improve your bankroll and your playing experience.

Professionals treat their gambling and poker like a full time job so they will typically spend eight to ten hours a day committed to their profession. They obviously do other things like exercise, eat and socialise but in order to continue on in their job, they have to put in the hours in order to succeed. If you think about how much time you are putting in then it will almost always translate to the type of results that you are achieving. The more hours you invest, the greater return you will be able to achieve.

Your attitude to putting in the necessary amount of time is highly important to your success. You should enjoy analysing or grinding at the tables. If it becomes a chore then you are more than likely to also hate being a professional since it means a lot of repetition of the same thing! An answer to this is to mix up the type of time you put into analysing your gambling. Find a partner to discuss strategies with or find a young apprentice to show the trade. By keeping yourself thinking about gambling and committing to a minimum number of hours you will be constantly thinking and working like a professional gambler.
