Who Will Be The Next Mayor Of London?
As Ken Livingstone attempts to secure a second tenure as Mayor of London it seems that he is fighting a losing battle with Conservative MP Boris Johnson well ahead in the betting, even if the polls show a much closer fight. Have you ever thought of betting on politics? Does the race to be the next Mayor of London interest you?
Over the last few years there has been a large boost in the number of people who are prepared to take a gamble on politics, with many chasing the obvious choices and the opinion polls, but does it always work?
The race to be Mayor of London concludes this week with the vote, and while there are other candidates for the position, it seems that the fight is between Ken and Boris. While Ken has encountered a fair bit of criticism of late he is still up there in the polls, but it looks as though it is Boris Johnson’s to lose, not Ken Livingstone’s to win. So what next?
Those at Conservative Party head office will be hoping and praying that Boris does not bring out one of his gaffes over the next couple of days, and no more scandal hits the press. There was a story last week about an alleged share holding which said to have been missing from the MP’s register, but this story soon disappeared.
Politics is a deadly game and many people up and down the country will have a story or two to tell about those leading the race for Mayor. For Boris the polls cannot come quick enough but for Ken he may have enjoyed a few more days waiting for Johnson to drop a clanger.
At this moment in time the “clever” money is on Boris Johnson, but there is time yet to drop one of those infamous gaffes with which he is regularly acquainted!
