I'm planning a trip to Las Vegas right now, and I am really looking forward to it. I absolutely plan on doing things besides gambling, but it's definitely going to be a big part of the trip. Can anybody recommend to me some of the essential casinos to visit in Vegas? If I could only go to, say 4 or 5 different casinos, which should I go to?

A helicopter ride over the Grand Canyon is absolutely brilliant - if you can afford it! I was lucky enough to have a good win one night I was there so I treated me and my wife to a flight - it was worth every penny.

How much are those helicopter rides? I've heard that the views are just spectacular, I would love to do something like that.

I highly recommend that you go see some type of show while you are there. There are supposed to be some great magic shows there.

Las Vegas now has some real competition of income from pure entertainment rivaling what the make from gambling. Well not really rivaling, but more and more people are simply going to Las Vegas for the live entertainment and shows. Its not a bad idea, not to mention you can simply take a 20 dollar bill and just sit in front of the slot machine for about an hour.

The shows are what you want to go see. They are all very good and depending on the Casino you're in they can have some really mind-blowing shows. The helicopter trip over the Grand Canyon sounds amazing and if you can afford that I wouldn't definitely go. Especially if you have a partner to go with you.

I think you should check like you are now online from those that have been there, but also take into account where your hotel will be compared to the casinos. Some provide transportation included in your hotel accommodation's and some don't.

Also, keep in mind that if you stay on one end of the strip you will most likely want a taxi cab at one point or another. It's a good idea to carry around a little bit of cash to pay the taxi drivers, and don't forget to tip.
