I struggle when it comes to a night at the casinos, to stay away from the slots. I only ever take what I can afford to lose, but when I get bored of the tables and cards, I turn to the slots for a 'break'. Unfortunately I tend to never been able to break away from that break until all my money is gone and I have to go home.
How do you make yourself stop?

| Well, firstly, I walk into a casino with only a limited amount of money just like everyone else. And second, I try to variate my games. So after I spent a certain amount of money on a certain game, I move on trying something else for the day.

| When I enter a casino, I never bring money that would never go back to my pocket. When I play in casinos, I think that what I bet is just a payment and I would be a winner already as long as I enjoyed playing the games. So I only bring the money that I could afford to lose.

| I think it's all about self control, and will power. When I go out for a casino night, I mentally divide the money that I am taking between each of my favourite games which includes the slots.

| I set myself a time limit for the slots. I know how addictive the sparkly lights are, so I only allow myself a certain time on them as I am more likely to have a return elsewhere!

| I think no matter what you are playing there needs to be a set limit. I try to not spend too much time playing one game. If I come in with 1000 to spare and gamble with, thats fine, but don't expect me to blow it all at one spot too.

I wish I had learn the lessons from my first experience--I would have saved myself some money!
Ensure to go in with a set amount, and also ensure it's not easy to access any more.
If you can't control yourself, ask a respectable and disciplined friend to help. Give that friend your wallet and they'll ensure you don't get a penny more than planned!
