I have a couple of friends (obviously addicted to betting because they are the same people I mentioned in the video game betting thread) who will bet on television show outcomes. One example is when The OC was on, they would bet on what would happen by the end of the episode.

Anybody else do this?

That's just going a tad ovrboard. It's a tv show, not a ball game.. Besides, the outcome on that one is a sure thing, even if we don't know what yet. The actors are all fiction. If you get to the point that you have to bet, you need help.

I would have to say a TV show isn't dynamic enough to bet on. You can reasonably determine the outcome of most of them based on the characters and their past. Drinking games are more suited to sitcom TV not betting.

I had some friends who would bet on what would happen by the end of the next show, and how many times. Kind of like a drinking game, but with money instead of shots. For example if one girl on the show flipped her hair a lot, they would bet on how many times that would happen in one episode. Kind of weird, I guess.

Yes, I'd say that your friends are desperately addicted.  Sounds like they would gamble on just about anything between them.  Betting on the show's outcomes would rob me of the storyline as I'd be too busy watching for these specific betting outcomes.

I agree, sounds like your friends have a problem! though we do like to bet on who will be going home at tribal council on Survivor. No money down though.
