I do love to play Texas Hold'em but lately find myself very frustrated playing online. So many times I bet with what should be a winning hand and someone hits the river with a straight that was holding 2 junk cards. I really wish I knew of a place close by where I could play a real game and not have to play online. I've read a few books on this incredible game and they are little help with online play because of the way the game is played. People will go all-in with absolutely nothing! It is enough to make you want to bang your head against the wall (or your monitor).
Does anyone have any insight as to why the online games most always favors the guy with junk?
I guess I need to work on my patience more than anything!

There are few things that are so unpardonably neglected in our country as poker. The upper class knows very little about it. Now and then you find ambassadors who have sort of a general knowledge of the game, but the ignorance of the people is fearful. Why, I have known clergymen, good men, kind-hearted, liberal, sincere, and all that, who did not know the meaning of a "flush." It is enough to make one ashamed of the species. ~Mark Twain

First, if the people with "junk hands" are always beating you I would go back and make sure you've got your strategy correct. Occasionally something that looks like junk really isn't. But assuming you are correct, it could be that you are just having a string of bad luck. Or, you are only remembering when junk hands win, and not the hundreds of junk hands that went before that didn't win.
At the same time... I sure hate it when that happens. You've got an almost certain winning hand and get beat by someone getting lucky!

| I would double check your strategy as well. It seems odd that junk hands are winning against what should be better hands. Perhaps contact the site with a couple scenarios you've had issues with and see if they can explain it to you?

| Honestly, I have seen there being a lot of games that ended with me practically pounding the desk out of shock! There were so many hands which I thought I had won for sure, and then come somes bum or other or throws down a set of cards, and you are screwed! That's just how the game seems to work sometimes lol
