| I'm a major history buff and found the background of poker to be fascinating. Although card games have been around for around a thousand years, the first game similar to modern poker was played by the Spanish. Called "primero" the games dates back to 1526 and bluffing was considered the major skill. Over time, people have invented, and continue to invent, new versions of the game.
