Does anyone ever use a fake tell? (Giveaway) My Dad says he does it all the time. He will do a particular fidget everytime he has a good hand, then, when he thinks everyone is on to his tell, he will not "tell" when he has a good hand. He has won some nice pots that way.

| Isn't that just bluffing. Make the people think you don't have anything, then lay it on them? It works too. It reminds people they can't read you.

| Yes, as far as I knew this was what bluffing was all about. Making people think you have something you don't-which of course means you have to give a fake tell or else they wouldn't know what you have in the first place!

Honestly, I think player watching is a tad overrated, but that's just me. I would much rather play my cards than try and get myself to read people effectively. I usually look for patterns in betting, and I feel like I can get a good read on someone that way.

| Bluffing works well. But if you are faced with an old-timer or like the experts, they would not usually buy bluffs. I've seen some that by just looking at your facial expressions, they would know what your cards are.
