Why online casinos? Where's the thrill of the crowd? what's the attraction? Where's the pressure of the dealer getting ready to take the last of your cash? Isn't that wht gambling is all about? How about the shout of the crowd when you hit your number on the craps table? Is there anything even close to that online?

Some people actually play just because they enjoy the game and don't need all the trappings of live play. Personally, I'd much rather play in a land-based casino as I enjoy the crowds and hoopla there. To me it's all part of the entertainment value.

The land based casino is certainly better, but its fun to play when you can't get to the casino also. There are plenty of non-casino games online that you don't cost a penny and won't ever win you a penny, but what the fun in that!

I think some people just want to go ahead and play without the hassle that some places deal with. I know some women when pregnant wont go to a live place but will play online instead.

All those are pretty interesting replies and thank you. I personally stayeds away from anything except slots out of fear of looking (and proving..) like an idiot. I finally played my first few hands of blackjack a year or so ago and now when I go to Vegas I always throw away a few bucks on the tables. For me the Onlines hold no fear. And that's at the heart of gambling, I think.

The costs of gambling online are less, because I don't have to pay fuel for driving there, I don't have to pay parking and I can eat out of my own fridge. Gives me more money to play with, and that's always a plus.

I agree, gambling online has its advantages if you're not using it as a social night out. Its cheap, effective, and unbiased. Its also great to polish your skills before spending the cash to hit a real casino.

Does it really polish your skills though? I've played poker and blackjack handhelds and online and when I sat down at a real table it seemed like the cards just wouldn't come the way they do in the digital world.

Plus the pressure of the dealer being there changed they way my head worked I think.
