I have just recently started playing Poker online and I am having a good time. However, I wonder how much of a difference there is between online poker and a casino game? Especially since I am playing the free poker. Do you think people play differently when they are playing online? In a table game you can see the other players, and that should help, but I also think that the online players might play a little looser and be easier to beat?

I don’t think it is much different except that online poker is more relaxing because you could play in the nude and no one would know, except maybe whoever you live with of course.

I don’t really see a difference either, just because it is online does not necessarily mean that the other player isn’t playing his best. In fact, I think it is a bit harder because you cant read the player.

The lack of people interaction in a face to face manner can be annoying. Other than that its pretty much the same a mix of people who take it dead serious and those who are just passing time.

I think that the biggest difference would be between free tables and cash stake tables, not between online and offline. I can see potentially that people could be a lot more reckless when no cash was involved.

I find I actually play better at home online. I don't feel the same sort of pressure I feel in a casino at a table.

There is a big difference from online play compared to a brick and mortar casino. People online are very loose in their play and when you are at the table things are much tighter. Online you won't see many tells and there is a lot of bluffing done. At the tables again it is usually the opposite. If you want to play at a table find a small stakes tournament. You won't lose as much and you can still play for a while if you play tightly.
