An addict in gambling will just hear these advices from one ear and then the lesson or meaning of it will just go out the other ear.

When I gamble, I only bring what I could afford to lose, I guess I have said about this principle of mine so many times in this forum already.

RE: Anti-Addiction Tactic

Indeed a true addict wouldn't let these tips work for them. They might be fine tips for people who just gamble in a normal manner but for those who are addicted, they are constantly looking for ways to gamble, or ways to have or get money to gamble. This wouldn't help them.

RE: Anti-Addiction Tactic

Those are all rather good tips when you are going out. Sometimes tempation gets the best of us and thats how we end up in trouble, out of money or both. :D

RE: Anti-Addiction Tactic

My concern is, if a person is an addict, they shouldn't even be in there. They need to stay away completely. It's like an ex smoker. If you have one smoke you'll have another and another and soon you'll be back to your old ways.

RE: Anti-Addiction Tactic

I agree about the fact that it would only work for those with an addiction but I think it was meant to be that way. I have done this and it works very well.

RE: Anti-Addiction Tactic

Right, and since some places will offer you a line of credit with them, you end up with that temptation always around. You do not need to ever carry cash to a place if you don't want to and it won't stop you gambling.

RE: Anti-Addiction Tactic

I agree with Azaria. This is an excellent way to manage your gambling (it's how we do it) BUT, if you have a problem with gambling addiction, this won't work for you. addiction is a real problem and you find ways to get more money to spend, or excuses to take your card with you!

RE: Anti-Addiction Tactic

This would work if you don't drink. If you are drinker then it is not so easy because you would need to get a taxi home and so would need extra money for that. Stopping yourself spending your taxi money would be really hard.

RE: Anti-Addiction Tactic

That's a good way to keep yourself from spending all your money gambling, but only works for those who do not have an addiction. Some things are easier said than done.

Anti-Addiction Tactic

This is not really a way to help you win, instead this is something that I do to make sure I dont lose the farm during a night out at the casinos.

First, keep all credit cards at home, there is no reason to take them with you, if you got cash you are set.

Take only your ID, and whatever cash you are ready to part ways with.

Once you lose that money, you go home, simple as that, its worked for me, and know you can use this for yourself
