Well, I'm not even sure what you guys mean by a "visor", but I'll wear a hat. In fact, I wear the same one everytime. Not that it's lucky or anything, I just like it, lol...

I agree that poker players are liars and as such you can't trust the face to be sure. But then some people aren't very good at their bluffs and so you can tell what is really going on. That is where visors come in handy.

I think some players feel the visor or sunglasses are an advantage. So they feel like they play better when they wear them. But I don't think it should effect the way anybody plays against them. Poker I faces are overrated. The object of the game is to lie when you don't have the nuts and act the same way when you do. Poker players are liers lol so you can't trust the face. Much more powerful are the tells we get from their hands stumbling when they make a bet or look at their hand and their past play at the table.

Great interactions happening in here. Now I couldn't make up my mind where I should get in. But personally, I use a visor just for the sake of my look and not for the game itself. So it doesn't matter to me if I or my opponent have a visor, a sunglass, a peaked hat, or whatever is in the head, as long as I enjoy the game.

It's not just the wearing of the peaked cap-you use it by holding your head dipped to make sure that the peak of the cap covers the whole of your face. Must make you look real shady I am sure, but it must work somewhat or else the pros wouldn't use them.

I wear a slouch hat and shades. I don't care whether I give anything away or not. I just think I look cool. I'm right in character when I'm through for the night to pull out my harmonica and play me some blues.

I wouldn't be caught dead wearing a visor or poker hat. it's just not my style and I have a good poker face so I wouldnt need one

I honestly don't think this peaked hat would help because you're still able to see the people's face really. Glasses yeah, they can help I suppose.

Practically, I thought it was just for those under bright lights. Didn't think of it for hiding your tells.

Otherwise I immediately thought of the Poker Dogs painting and how corny they look. Sorry to those who wear them proudly and professionally...don't mean to be rude...just an observation.

I only use a visor for the fact that some fluorescent lights really bother my eyes, as far as someone seeing my face I don't care, I just need to be able to see the cards!

I think a visor will help you hide your emotions. But it is really annoying for your opponents. I think you better learn how to play fairly and effectively.

I don't wear a visor, but my boyfriend always does. Frankly it annoys me, I think you should just learn to bluff better.

Well, personally, I don't wear any sort of visor when I'm playing poker. I believe that if you don't have a good poker face you should practice! I sometimes do where a visor but I tend to not make it a compulsion.

Well, I've seen professional and even celebrity players wearing visors, so I don't think I would worry too much about it looking bad.

I read that one of the problems is that people will often question you about your hand, and it's almost impossible to lie and be convincing with your eyes when you do. So that's why visors are used.

I don't wear visors or anything, in fact I think that would only make it more obvious that I was trying to hide my facial expressions. I think it gives you a more experienced look when you do not try to cover up, but then again, that requires you to maintain straight faces.

I try not to get myself into games where people are that cut-throat. I play poker for fun, the possibility of earning money is just a bonus. I would find a hat and sunglasses a hindrance myself.

Not me. I tend to have a good poker face and don't bother with the visor. I feel it hinders my view of the faces of others. Same goes for the sunglasses. Besides, with the sunglasses, I used to think they were because the players were hung over lol.

I got one as a birthday present once and I used to wear it when I played poker. It made me feel professional lol. My son took it because he thought it looked cool with his do-rag and I have never gotten it back

I see this rather a lot for the professionals, that they wear a head covering with peak that will cover their face. The idea is to prevent their eyes or facial expression giving the game away, and so they keep their head looking down.

Do any of you use a visor?
