We bet six packs in college all the time. For big stuff like the Superbowl we might even bet a whole case. Haven't made a bet like that since getting married though.

RE: Other than money

I usually bet chores with my roommates. None of us like to do the dishes or clean the bathroom. On the other hand none of us like looking at a sink full of dishes or a dirty bathroom either.

RE: Other than money

I played a lot of poker with kids and if we wagered anything it would have to be stuff like checkers or something like that. I played poker with an 8 year old for goldfish. Of course I have played a lot of poker where there was literally no betting but would have kids lined up to play. Of course I was cheating and they wanted to see how I was cheating. It was a little gimmick I had at a camp. We were playing 5 draw and I would do a lot of blatant cheating moves but sometimes so subtle that unless you were directly watching me, you wouldnt notice.

RE: Other than money

I remember the old days when we play poker for push ups. We often do this every Friday night when everyone is very tired. If you can't complete the push up, the other consequence would be to serve the winner with whatever he wants, something like bring a glass of juice or a piece of cake.

RE: Other than money

I have played for pretzels and other junk food. House chores are good, which include washing dishes, cleaning the dog house, cooking, and wiping the floor. Just about anything you don't really want to do, and have an opportunity to pass it on.

RE: Other than money

Candy bets are so fun. I've done that a couple times, not wanting to owe friends money or anything. I still love the satisfaction of betting on chores and odd jobs though, and not having to do them myself.

RE: Other than money

I've done poker nights where we do candy bets - everyone brings bags of candy, and those are the "chips" for the night. :) Chores and personal favors are always good too.

RE: Other than money

There are so many things that you can bet with, it's amazing. My favorite things are household chores, like doing the dishes and vacuuming. When I was a kid I really liked to use Monopoly money.

RE: Other than money

Who is going to do the chores, wash and buff my car, just about anything you can imagine you can bet with. :D

Other than money

I know many people have mentioned that they play poker, not for the money, but just for fun. What are some of the things you wager instead of money? Breakfast in bed, monopoly money, weekend for two?
