I recently watched a head-to-head tournament. It amazes me how one of the pros can win a hand just because of who they are (like Chris Ferguson).
I do think though that the pros play a lot more hands than I would play simply because they have the experience to do so.

L2P
RE: Ever watch poker?

I don't know why but I like to watch poker matches on TV. I don't intentionally sit down to watch but if I'm channel surfing and I stumble across a game I will often stop and watch the whole thing.

RE: Ever watch poker?

I like the excitement of watching it on television and I have some players who are my favorites. It can almost be like watching a sport

RE: Ever watch poker?

Yeah I watch Poker quite a bit. It's amazing how they know all of these stats and strategies, and how they're able to bluff - but be bluffed back at.

I also like the commentators because they don't just go, "Okay this guy has a pair" they would pretty much turn a pair into, "OMG HE HAS A PAIR AGAINST THE OTHER GUY'S ACE OF SPADES!! WHAT SHALL HAPPEN NOW?!?!!!??!"

Seems that extreme sometimes anyways.

RE: Ever watch poker?

Watching poker on the television really gives you some insights. I like how they tell you all the options and what the players are doing and feeling. It really opens your eyes to the diversity of the simple game of poker.

RE: Ever watch poker?

Just watching the players faces is enough. I was once watching and the winner was the only person that was not a professional poker player. I thought that was funny.

RE: Ever watch poker?

Yes I watch it on TV. it amazes me how they keep count of the cards that have been played and bet according to the odds. I just don't have the memory like they do. Of course luck has to be on your side also.

RE: Ever watch poker?

True, it is ever so very interesting to watch poker on TV. I never realized how diverse poker is before I began watching poker. There are so many moves and strategies you can have, it is almost endless!

And besides, it lets you think and relate certain body language with certain actions of players which is really helpful when 'reading' people.

RE: Ever watch poker?

I love it but it's never on! I find it very cool and most of the poker shows I watch create the feeling that you are part of the audience watching the game progress. I have learned many moves through watching these games

RE: Ever watch poker?

It used to be that the World Series of Poker was getting a good amount of coverage in our local channel but lately I noticed that celebrity poker is what I always saw when I chanced upon a poker match.

RE: Ever watch poker?

Wow. Call me a loser, but I never knew that there were poker games on TV (though I suppose it's not that surprising). I don't actually know too much about poker (my gambling is focused more on sports or slots), so watching it on TV might be very educational.

Hmmm.

RE: Ever watch poker?

I agree, I really like the expert commentary on the black jack game, live. Sort of like the popular poker shows that seem to be on every channel now.

Sometimes they say exactly what I'm thinking and I get a big head about it, lol

RE: Ever watch poker?

I will watch poker on tv occasionally, if there's nothing else on. I find it to be boring sometimes. I would much rather just be playing than watching somebody else playing.

RE: Ever watch poker?

I never played poker yet. I have watched a lot of them on TV specially the celebrity poker. But the sad thing is that I really do not understand what they are doing. :)

RE: Ever watch poker?

I have watched them before especially the World Series Poker. That was the reason why I got to play it online. The game interests me a lot. By watching the players play gave me a lot of information of how to do it correctly.

Ever watch poker?

Do any of you ever watch poker on TV? I just love it, since I don't go to casinos very often. The commentary in the background is just amazing and creates a feeling that you are in the casinos with the players themselves.

Also helps to improve my game, I guess.

Any of you watch poker or other casino games on TV being played?
