I wonder what is the youngest age ever started on poker or any other card game though?

RE: What age

Unless you are a "no gambling" type of family, and I doubt anyone her is :), I think it is a good idea to teach kids how to play the different games, strategy, and good betting techniques.
I know my kids will want to gamble when they are old enough so I am teaching them now how to gamble responsibly.

RE: What age

Playing cards can actually help in math skills and get them thinking for themselves. Teach her the basic rank of hands and sit and play a few hands with her when you can and help her out. A book wouldn't hurt but I'm not sure many were written that a child could follow.
L2P
RE: What age

Many people start playing card games before the age of eight in a basic capacity (games like snap and pairs). The more complex games, really you should just judge whether the child is old enough to cope. And whether their hands are big enough to hold the cards :D We started out with a half sized deck.

RE: What age

I know I started learning at around 5/6 in some capacity. Maybe not everything, but bits and pieces. Any kid that can play most card games can probably learn a bit. But it depends on your stance on children and card games/betting.

What age

What is a good age to start someone playing poker, just for fun mind you not betting or anything. I know this has been touched on before, but besides a good age I am looking for any good tips to help teach someone. I'm not the best teacher by far but I have a niece that wants to learn, so I was thinking maybe a book could help her more than I could.
