Other times things are played up since the camera is on. I would rather see it all in person instead.

RE: TV & Poker

I'm on the fence here. while TV does make it look easy you have to remember the people being shown playing aren't just the average Joe off the street. Its like watching nuclear physicists split atoms, its easy because they know what they are doing and they are dang good at.

RE: TV & Poker

I think different people have different ways of playing. Bluffing might work for some, but not necessarily for all. Part of this game is finding what works for you.

RE: TV & Poker

I think TV can give a bit of a false impression as well. You CAN play with anything but you shouldn't play with most! Many of the pros can bluff or get by with it because of who they are and not because they have a great hand. I play a pretty tight game and rarely bluff.
Slim

RE: TV & Poker

You can play anything - however, you will tend to lose a lot of money that way. Hopefully people who are watching will see how the pros commit to and carry out a good bluff by seeing when they have lousy cards but still win. I don't think the television makes it seem any easier.

TV & Poker

Do you think televised games makes the game out to be easier than it really is? I know that I've seen a few games where they show the hole cards and I'm thinking, "what the heck is he staying for?" Then I play online and see the same thing. I think television gives people the idea that you can play with anything when that is not the case!

Smitty
