Single vs. Multiple deck

So I can see where the game could be mangeable vs the house with a single deck deal.. but what happens with the multi deck games.. the last time I played a multi deck dealer I got my hat handed to me (and gave the dealer my last $20.00 She was gonna get it anyway..). Is there a way to stay competitive?

We are going to try and get a couple of old friends together for a BBQ and a nice evening of poker and blackjack. I have no idea what I am going to win or lose but somehow someone always ups with a car and in the past decade 3 people have lost theirs. I'm sure it will be interesting. :)

We had a party a bit ago and everyone brought their quarters. We all played blackjack! It was fun!

Head-to-Head Blackjack?

In a non-casino setting once or twice, I've played head-to-head blackjack with other people--that is, a form of Blackjack where only one player wins "the pot", as opposed to each player winning seperately against the dealer (though the dealer CAN win). It was an interesting variation that led to more risk taking. Do any casinos in Vegas offer this form of BJ?

This is actually pretty simple, you just need to memorize a few things.

1. If your hand is 17 or higher, you stay no matter what the dealers up card is.

2. if your hand is 16, stay if the dealers up card is 6 or less, and hit on 7 or 8. you give up after that

3. If your hand is 15, stay if the dealers up card is 6 or less, and hit if the dealers up card is 7, 8 9 or ace. give up on 10

Sometimes I will get a look or a remark from someone when I play BJ, well its not a skill game or its what newbies start out with. Am I alone here? I really like this game, its not about being insanely difficult but its the fun I get out of it.

I have only played blackjack once and it was on a $5 table. The next time I went to the casino, they didn't have any $5 opened for blackjack, so I passed.

Personally, I like online casinos more because I need to travel quite a long way in order to go to a real casino.

Also, since it is quite a lot faster play online, there is also a lot of excitement. But I do miss the 'social interaction', if you want to call it that.

About when did you learn to play Blackjack?

Blackjack was one of the first card games that I ever learned, actually, and definitely the easiest to play. I learned when I was still a kid.

Chinese Blackjack is also known as 21-point, or ban-luck (Hokkien). It is a gambling game played in South East Asia which bears similarity to conventional Blackjack.

The game uses one or two 52-card deck(s) and is playable by any number of players. One of them is to be a dealer, or they may take turn to be the dealer, e.g. each person deals 3 rounds or 3 winning rounds. In this article, players beside the dealer shall be denoted "player(s)".

The popularity of this game is due to its unique feature that the dealer is allowed to selectively reveal some players' hands, settle bets with them and then hit again and reveal other players' hands. Another unique feature is a special status given to owning 5 cards unbusted.

Would you guys be interested in playing this game at a real or online casino? I have always liked variations on current games.

I have heard talk in the past of a particular Blackjack strategy that increases your odds to above that of the bank. I have not seen detail of this because many places want you to buy the strategy from them which I will not do.

Does anyone here know what the odds are for hitting a hand above a certain number are?

For example getting 11 and below has a 100 % chance as you will always get this much as a minimum but what is it for higher numbers and particularly 21?

I just finished reading Play Blackjack Like the Pros by Kevin Blackwood and it was great. I'd definitely give it 5 stars and would recommend it to anyone wanting to get better at Blackjack. What other books have you read and would you recommend them?
