I don't mind a few hands of BJ every now and then but it isn't my game of choice. To me it tends to be a bit boring. As far as skill being involved, I think most card games have a bit of skill in them.
Smitty

RE: People who don't like BJ

You know the only person who ever gave me a look when I played blackjack was the dealer when I hit on a 19. :D I don't think I have ever been chided for my desire to gamble. Except on penny slots.. Alot of the people I hang with don't get them at all.

RE: People who don't like BJ
Agent Fred (6/15/2008)
Blackjack is a good game "for noobs", I think, because it gives more control to a player than slots does, and lets them play risk vs. reward without going head-to-head with other players. It's also viewed as a "safer" table game than, say. Poker, in that everyone can potentially win without having to beat everyone else.

Personally, I love a good game of blackjack, especially when I don't have time to devote to poker. In fact, I love most everything with the initials BJ ... ;)
I am kind of offended by that. Whos to say I dont like slots too? Its just a preference that I like blackjack more than other card games, not nessesarily all gambling games (including slots). And in regards to head2toe, you have not been to any of my family games. :D There is always head2toe something or another. :D

RE: People who don't like BJ

That is just rude! I have only played once and really had no idea what I was doing, so I can imagine what they would say to me.

Just ignore them ~ they must be very negative people.

RE: People who don't like BJ

I say what ever floats your boat. If you like then that is your business. I have played a few times and it is fun, so tell those to stop being a game pusher.

RE: People who don't like BJ

Blackjack is a good game "for noobs", I think, because it gives more control to a player than slots does, and lets them play risk vs. reward without going head-to-head with other players. I get the same issues if its dealing with card games, online games or even video games. And yes Im old but I still play video games. :P

RE: People who don't like BJ

I hear ya here! People often seem to think that they have a right to 'coach' you or push you onto other games. It's really no business of anyone else what you are playing-your game, your choice.

People who don't like BJ

Sometimes I will get a look or a remark from someone when I play BJ, well its not a skill game or its what newbies start out with. Am I alone here? I really like this game, its not about being insanely difficult but its the fun I get out of it.

Damn people need to keep their opinion's to themselves. :)
