I believe that evidently the amount you put in the machines compared to the amount you receive is against you, and this is probably true. I remember winning an $86 or something like that on some weird slot game and it caught up to me but I kept playing, thus my wins / loses ratio was against me.

Casinos definitely take in a good portion of their income from slots. They do have the worst odds and people often don't realize how much the small amount per play adds up until they've gone through the $20 they brought to play slots. I wouldn't be surprised at a 50-70% intake.

Wow, despite my previous belief that the slots were a big part of the income of a casino I never expected it to be as high as 70%. It makes a lot of sense that they are by the doors so that they are the first and last thing that you see-and any spare change you have as you are leaving will likely be deposited in the slots.

Ok, to make this topic have a concrete answer, I tried googling for the "percentage of casino income on slot machines". So it is clear that slot machines are the life of casinos. I could not imagine a casino without a slot machine. I think casinos won't survive without slot machines.

Thats what I always thought about slots being near the door, lol. I read up on it, and the slots is one of the highest sources of income for casinos

I think that a lot of the casinos income comes from slots and I also think that thats the main reason they are near the door! As soon as we walk in, we see the slots and sit down

Did you ever notice that many places put the slots right at the front when you walk in the door? The first place I ever went to I kept thinking why do they do that, and hide all the other stuff in the back. :D

I know that when I was working in an office with two machines, with almost no one playing other than the staff, we took £400-£600 a week. That was just two machines, and staff only. That was a big taking for the boss, and a nice bonus come new year's eve as he emptied the machines into the hands of those who were working that shift :D

Just by the number of machines they have out, you know it's a big and sure income winner. The odds for slots are definitely much better for the house.

In my post, I was talking about the income that the casino makes, not the person playing the machine, just to clear up confusion of my post. I agree that slots give the casino a lot of income. It's one game that few people really win big on.

I think a LOT of income comes from slots. Though they are small costs to players, it has the worst odds, and a lot of people play them. I don't know what the exact breakdown is, but I think slots are one of the big money makers at low risk for the casinos.

I think playing on slots will not give you that much income as other games do. Maybe it will give 1 to 5 percent of your total income.

I'm just curious, but how much of a casino's total profit do you think comes from slot machines as opposed to other forms of gambling? Does anybody know for sure?
