I would have to agree with slickchick. You would think that they should have to have that information placed directly on the front of the machine.

I have never seen directions on a machine before. If I don't know what it's all about, I usually ask the person next to me if they have ever played this game. They usually know lots more than I do.

While I agree that the only instructions I have ever seen for a slot machine are the payouts on the top of the machine, I think it is very important to read that because playing 1 coin or 3 can mean the difference between winning 100 coins or 1000.

The only instructions I have seen are those listing the payouts based on the number of coins you put in, and those are in plain sight on the top of the machine!

It never hurts to read the directions for gaming or anything else. Wouldn't you rather know exactly what you are doing than just take a guess on it?

Most slots are pretty straight forward in how you play them but taking the time to read the payouts and any special "features" can actually improve your odds a bit. Sometimes you will get a bonus spin or a better payout for playing that one extra line on the machine.

I think it's pretty easy to learn about which machines have better payouts, etc.

But until you know exactly what to expect when you win, it can be pretty exciting realizing you won, but not being sure as to how much. Especially in the days when the tokens or coins just seemed to keep dropping for you.

You're right...slots are pretty straight forward but I have to admit some are getting pretty complicated to try to figure out what to do with them. It used to be you put in the money, picked the amount to bet and pulled the handle or pushed the button. Now you have screen interaction and all kinds of stuff going on but after a few minutes you can generally figure it out if you don't feel like going through all the instruction screens.

I never even knew that there were instructions. I thought it was pretty straight forward. I have never known about the second line in slots though. Next time I hit the casinos I'll be sure to look for instructions

I suppose that makes me the only one here who did not just automatically know the first time I ever played slots that you could play more than one line at a time and each line cost extra but you were also more likely to win and stuff.

I dont think I have seen instructions more than whats been stated. I always thought everyone knew how slots worked.

I've never seen instructions that pertained to improving your game play, only those that stated the odds, and stated the average return that the machine makes. The cheaper the machine the lower the percentage return generally.

More likely its the odds and payout procedure for the machines they are trying to avoid, not how to play. Slots are straight forward. You put in the coin and play. But different machines have different payouts and special procedures which people may not realize if they don't see them posted.
