A lot of times they just replace parts of the machine to give it an updated look to try and draw more people to play. They also will move them around the floor a bit to try and get machines that aren't being played much to be played more often. It is just one more way for them to make money.

That's a good point. Machines break down often, and people can lose money when they do. If choosing to play the new machine reduces that risk then I would rather do that.

I used to think that the machines with the "reels" were old school and I would only play them instead of the digital ones. Then I read a book and discovered that the "reels" haven't been old school mechanical for a long time. They have in fact been digitally controlled for at least 15 years now. They just leave the reels in to make people like me feel better.

If it makes you feel any better.. I agree with the "evil credit card slot" remark. I leave my wallet in the car when I go in a casino. I'd rather have my car broken into and cards stolen (I'll get my money back) than spend it all in a rush sitting at a machine.

I'd rather have new machines that worked properly instead of old machines that broke down after I'd been on them for 25 minutes. :P

Of course, the new ones are evil, with their credit card slots.

Pretty much all places rotate machines from time to time. Eventually regular patrons will tire of the current selection, and will play less. They need to keep things fresh, and so new machines is how they do it.

Everything has to be upgraded once in a while. I can understand why you are upset if you really liked those machines, but you can't expect them to run forever. In between your visits they may have broke down and not worked at all. It could have simply been cheaper to replace them than to continue to fix them.

What exactly is wrong with the new machines? Maybe the old ones weren’t up to standards or whatever and had to be changed. Just get used to it and I am sure you will love them again.

If the addition of new slot machines puts you off and makes you uncomfortable perhaps gambling isn't right for you? lol.
I'd ask and watch someone else play first who seems to get how the new machines work before throwing money in if I were that worried.

Some times I think they do this on purpose. Put in new machines so you aren't sure what all it does and what your options are and you end up having to spend money just to figure it out. I really miss the good ole days on the slots.

Don't all slot machines work pretty much the same way? I'm not sure I understand what you would have to re-learn? If it's just what constitutes a winner and what the payout would be, doesn't it still say on the machine?

Its possible they replaced them all with better guts on the inside just doing your normal upgrade to keep with the times. Did they mention anything about it to you when you checked in or anything?

The casino I go to just got new machines. I don't know how I feel about this. I was use to going to one section to find the machine I understood and played that. Now I have to learn all over again.

What would be the advantage of new machines anyways?
