Then again, I did not have much time available to me, so I had to cut some corners how and where I could! Maybe next time I will have a nice meal again, since it would certainly do me some good.

RE: Food
picodoll (4/8/2008)
I have a lot of fun at the casino but if it wasn't for the fact that I'm going there for a nice dinner as well I doubt if I would even go.
Food is important! I usually go for the buffets in Vegas, though.
RE: Food

GambleFever - I am the same way. I go to the casinos here in town 2-3 times a month with friends, for a good time gambling, but just as much for a good meal at a decent price too.

RE: Food

I've found the restaurants around Vegas to be very good and reasonable. It's a good idea too having so much good food around because no-one wants to gamble on an empty stomach. With a bellyful and some alcohol to boot, it's a royal flush.

RE: Food

I've had some great meals in restaurants just off the casinos in Vegas.

In Niagara Falls, Ontario I used to like going to the Hard Rock Cafe for some pub food and a pint before trying the slots. It was pricey, but I love looking at all the guitars on the wall. ;)

It's such a waste of cool instruments, though. :w00t:

RE: Food

I have definitely noticed a difference in the quality and price of food in the Vegas casinos. I went about 8 years ago and the food was reasonably priced and not too fancy. Now it is gourmet this and that and the prices are crazy. You would think they make enough money on the games to give us a break on the food.

L2P

RE: Food

Yeah, it is definitely nice to turn casino visits into actual outings with food and drinks etc. Going for gambling alone can still be fun as well, but it may feel a little empty if you don't get a meal or something while you are there. This is just my opinion though, so hey!

RE: Food

I have a lot of fun at the casino but if it wasn't for the fact that I'm going there for a nice dinner as well I doubt if I would even go.

RE: Food

The casinos around here do have some good food, but not nearly enough of it is being made from scratch anymore. Call it cost cutting if you like, but I wish more places made meals the old fashioned way. The food still tastes great though, so I shouldn't complain too much.

RE: Food

I've always found the nice restaurants in casinos were a little bit less expensive. One of my favorite restaurants is the Romanza in the Peppermill in Reno. The food is fabulous and the service is great. It is probably a 4 star restaurant and you can get dinner as low as $20 per person. Or free if you can get the comps!

RE: Food

I find there is a variety to the quality of the food and service in casinos, just as there is in a range of restaurants. Overall, I have been very satisfied with the food I've eaten in casino restaurants but I have had the random so-so experience.

RE: Food

I was thinking that too. If you go elsewhere to eat, you may not come back! So instead they serve great food, to keep you there a little longer. It works too.

RE: Food

I'll agree with you there... if you are eating in a restaurant (even a cafe). The buffets... well, buffets are buffets the world around. But most meals I've had in casinos are great. They don't want you to leave, after all.

Food

I must say many casinos have some of the best food I have ever tasted. While it might be a little on the pricey side majority of the time its still well worth it.
