Can you stand around people doing well at poker? Like you see in the movies? Or is that just a no-no?

Those kind of unspoken rules, etc.

RE: Casino Etiquette?

Its the loud mouth drunks that bother me the most. Of course most of the casinos are on watchout for the really offensive ones and help them along.

RE: Casino Etiquette?

A lot depends on the class of the casino you are in. If you are in a high class casino, you'll not have any problems. If you go to a cheap joint, you'll find trouble if you're looking for it and trouble if you're not on a bad night.

RE: Casino Etiquette?

I think that just common courtesy is what is observed in most casinos. As for the type of people that I hate running into at casinos are the hangerons and the drunks.

RE: Casino Etiquette?

I don't know much about official rules of conduct for casinos but the type of casino goeers who tick me off are the beggers and sore losers. I am sure some people know what I mean by beggers, the people who come up to you after losing their money and see you winning so they ask for cash

RE: Casino Etiquette?

I think that just knowing to be polite and respectful are common conduct. They are not official rules but things mst people would expect from others.

People I hate to see in casinos? Don't be an annoyance to other people at the casino, and just try to be polite. Don't be a sore loser, and play by the rules.

RE: Casino Etiquette?

I believe that general etiquette applies in these situations. For example, don't get too drunk that you cannot control yourself, and don't start fights with other people at the casinos. I don't think the rules are anything special, more so just general rules that all people should follow throughout their lives. ;)

RE: Casino Etiquette?

I view it as being very similar to pub etiquette-you don't get drunk, and you don't get abusive. Being loud and loutish will likely get you thrown out, and you know for sure that you have broken the etiquette rules. Though those are not so much unwritten rules!

But there are some things, such as obvious card counting will get you removed and you'll likely lose your winnings, if not all of your chips.

RE: Casino Etiquette?

Aside from the obvious rules that each casino has I personally think there is an unwritten code of conduct. Things like, being too drunk, being a very sore looser, causing trouble with people because they are winning and you are not.

These are not rules or a code of conduct per se however they are standards of politeness that I think should be observed by anyone in a casino.

RE: Casino Etiquette?

Hmm.. the type of person I hate to see at a casino? I really dislike seeing the people who like to start problems with others while gambling.

As far as etiquette goes, I guess it just depends on where you are. I don't think there are many rules of etiquette that you need to follow though.

RE: Casino Etiquette?

well, the really drunk guys who have gambled away all their money and are looking to score a lady are the ones I hate to see in casinos. ;)

Etiquette... hmmm, I don't know about a real code of conduct. I think for the most part there aren't problems, as long as people are polite and give others space, there aren't issues. That does get broken from time to time though!

Casino Etiquette?

I haven't been to very many casinos, so I was wondering-

Is there some sort of etiquette in casinos? A code of conduct, maybe?

In addition, what are some of the types of people you hate to see at a casino?
