Poor Shockey..

Jeremy Shockey traded away to th elosingest team ever (not really.. but close). What a shame. But then again, what an ***.. He should have seen it coming with all the arguing and criticizing of his head coach in public. Not to mention they wouldn't let him on the field at the Super Bowl.. I wonder if he got a ring?

Anyone watch a semi-pro team?

My nephew plays on a semi-pro team, the TriCity Chargers, out of Exeter, NH. We're going to one of his games this afternoon. I never followed semi-pro teams until he made it onto this one. He's a cornerback but also can do several other positions. These guys do get scouted sometimes at the bigger games so we're keeping our fingers crossed for him.

I've heard the TT Brett Favre saga likened to a poker game with Brett holding all the cards. What will Ted do? Will he bow to the undisputed "hero" of Green Bay football and allow him back as the starter (as Brett surely deserves?)

This is not a shocker for me myself personally, I think this has been coming for a long time. I will miss seeing him in all his greatness. I saw him play Oakland on Monday night after his father died and I have to say that was one of the greatest games ever played. He was just in the zone that night and it was wonderful to see. This is a great loss for the Packers but I think that they will do ok even without him.

Repeat for Giants. No way!

I was rooting for this this year and think they had a terrific run. I don't think they have the stuff to repeat. I think they will get a rough start to the season and then suffer a few key injuries and finish in the middle of the pack. I just have this sense about them. What do you think?

My Dad used to be a big San Francisco 49ers fan. They have been down on their luck the last umm... decade. They aren't alone in that department though. I think they have a better chance of being next year's most improved than say Detroit.

I think it sounds like a cash grab, since I've heard you have to commit to all 5 regular season games and 3 exhibition games at a price of about $250 each.

How does NFL drafting work? I've been told the worst team gets the first pick, so what pick? Does the player being drafted have to agree?
I don't know too much about football except that I have a friend who is passionate for it. lol I'd ask her, but she gets lecture style on it and won't shut up.

I won 250 dollars, since I was betting on the underdogs, a few freinds let me win twice what I actually bet.

It was really fun watching the game, it add a level of excitement to the game that doesnt otherwise exist. I couldn't have cared less for the superbowl until I actually bet on it.

People are talking about reinstating him in the NFL league but, should a trade be part of that reinstatement? Howie Long said all the teams film each other. The difference here is the Pats got caught, Congress wants the tapes but, the NFL destroyed them. Right or wrong its done and even if the Pats win the Superbowl they will still be known as the perfect season that cheated to get there.
