| Something needs to be done to clean up the players images for basketball, football and baseball. It is a disgrace for our children to have such hero's and to look up to them the way they do. As much as they are paid they should not only held to a higher standard of excellence for their performance in their sport but also for their overall contribution to the sportsmanship and society that has put them where they are.

| Nah I reckon that sports players are alright. They work hard for their money, let them spend it!

| I agree on both sides here. Because sports players are always exposed to the public, they should have a good image to portray. But as TomBull says, its their money so we have no right to tell them how they should spend it.

| While I agree that they should spend their money however they want, I do think they have a duty to be good moral citizens because of being in the limelight. Of course no one should be out there raping or stealing purses from old ladies, but especially not when you are some kids heroes.

| Spending it how they please is one thing, but buying illegal/controlled substances, female companionship or other unsavory things is just not legal or proper behavior for such figures in the community. Its bad enough we have to worry about politicians doing bad things, but sports figures are even worse. There are plenty of ways to spend their money on things that don't make kids idolize crooks and idiots.
