| What is the difference between gambling being illegal in a state and bingo not being illegal. When you purchase a bingo card you are betting that you will be the first one to win bingo. please explain the difference

The difference is if you take away the slot machines people just go to another state to play, but if you take away bingo the little old ladies will beat you with their walkers....
Kidding, I imagine bingo is justified as a contest for prizes instead of straight gambling perhaps?

| Gambling always include money. But bingo doesn't always mean gambling. Bingo can even become an instrument in raising funds for a good cause. For example, you could offer a bingo game for everyone and all the proceedings will go to charity. Now the winner of the game will not receive a money but maybe just a simple gift like chocolates or pins.

LMAO! Don't you have to buy your cards when you play? If you do, it's not quite a contest, right? Of course, then you think about buying raffle tickets and everything.. slippery slope.

Nearly all card games can be played for money or can be played for 'fun', like bingo. Bets are made in traditional sports all the time, so I don't understand the distinction.
