What is the definitive word?  Are cell phones and personal cameras allowed in casinos and can be used?  I've never taken either but I'm not sure what the rules are on this.

I didn't have a clue about the cameras, so googled it anyway...the opinion is it's a no-no, but only if you get caught. So cameras without a flash are not easily found out.  (i.e. on a cell phone?)

I don't get away with stuff like that, so I'm not even going to try.

It's not illegal to take pictures or have a camera on your person in a casino - but the casinos do not allow you take pictures.  They cite security and privacy concerns.  If caught, the security can escort you out.

I know cameras aren't allowed at most, but I've taken my cell phone. They have signs at some asking to turn your phone off, but I keep mine on because my kids are usually with a sitter or my mom in the hotel and I need to keep communication open.

I think that cells are ok as long as they are turned off or is put on vibrate. Casinos in my area do know that people will need a line of communication so all they ask is that we take it out of the casino rooms

Cameras aren't allowed so people can't steal franchise secrets such as the placement and setup of machines, tables and security. Which means so long as you're not taking pictures you will probably be ok.

The casino in my area has a no flash photography but nothing about cell phones. I always see people talking on them so I am guessing that they are allowed

Some of the factors already mentioned are indeed some of the concerns that the casinos have, but thats not all of them. If you have picture messaging, and zoom, you can have a picture of your hand sent to someone, and then they can run the numbers for you to tell you what to do next.
