I am originally from England although I have been living in the States for a long while now, and what shocked me when I first came here was how much more important professional soccer was back in Europe. How important is soccer in your country? How much attention do people pay to tournaments like the World Cup?

Our country did not give that much attention on soccer. But when I was in high school soccer is one of our major sports. We are one of the champions when it comes to soccer and baseball.

My country was influenced much by American sports like basketball and baseball. So soccer is not given much importance. Although right now, schools are competing with each other on soccer game. But it will take a long time until soccer will become famous in my country.

Being an American myself obviously soccer isn't as important as it could be here. I do think its come a long way since I was a girl and watched my first Sand Diego Soccer's match. But it still has a long way to go on the national level. Locally we have a regular and indoor team at many levels so it may happen one day.

I'm originally from Jamaica and soccer (we call it football there) is huge there. The national team is called the Reggae Boyz and yesterday they played an international friendly with the Soca Warriors, Trinidad and Tobago's national team.
