Where did this game Blackjack come from? I wonder if I could create a new casino game called 'Whitejack' and patent it and make some money!

| Blackjack started out as twenty one and grew up so to speak, in French casinos in the early 1700s if I recall correctly. Not sure why there in particular, but it changed some since.

I find it interesting to know that it was not until it came to the states the name blackjack ended up sticking between needing a ace and a "black jack".

| I love hearing interesting tidbits from history like this. As to inventing a new twist, go for it! Games have taken turns in popularity through the history of poker. The most popular form right now is Texas Hold'em...who knows what it will be a few years from now?
