Is Blackjack one of the most profitable casino games? I have always thought of Blackjack as being one of the most profitable games on the floor. Anybody else?

I think that BlackJack can be profitable according to your skills in it. I think i'd be hopeless in a game of blackjack

On the contrary, blackjack has the worst payback for the player. The house scores big when it comes to blackjack.

The misconception comes from the simplicity of the game.
BlackJack is far more luck than a game like poker. The rules are simple, the strategies are easy to understand and play.
Winning? Lots of chance there.

Unless you are a card counter on the average you will lose money. The odds are definitely in favor of the house. If I have a run of luck I walk away before the law of averages catches up to me.

I've always had decent luck with blackjack and a friend who is a well know ex-dealer always told me it was your best bet to win decent if you had the head for it. Granted I'm a geek and have a decent photographic memory, but I can't count cards very well.

I would think its a tossup between that and poker since both are fairly popular. Anyone have statistics on this or is that info made public?

I don't remember the exact statistics, but I do remember reading that the games with the best odds for the players are some of the bets on the craps table, and blackjack when you are fairly good at basic strategy. Also baccarat can be good but I find it incredibly boring! The worse bets are the slot machines and keno.
